While it is important that people looking to bring online poke to the whole of America keep working hard at achieving their goals, there is a need to be realistic. This is going to be a slow process and if people are unable to handle the length of time that the process is likely to take, they may find that they become dispirited and uninterested. This is not a good thing and it can ruin a lot of hard work and effort. It is important for all those concerned in the promotion and progress of online poker in the US to remember that there is a long way to go.
A reminder of this came with the results of a survey carried out by the Farleigh Dickinson University. The survey questioned more than 1,100 adults in April and they found that there was a greater number of respondents who were keen to see marijuana legalized than online poker. Over half of the respondents, 52%, said that they were in favour of marijuana being legalized in the US while only 20% of respondents said that they were keen to see online poker and gaming regulated in the US. This will come as a bit of a blow and it may be that pot as opposed to taking the poker pot is more popular in America.
Survey indicates not everyone is behind online poker in the US
It turned out that only 4% of respondents were in favour of both activities being made legal and 18% of the respondents stated that they would prefer neither of these outcomes to become illegal. While there is a great deal of interest and demand for poker and online gambling to become legal for online players in the US, it can sometimes be easy to be swept up by the emotion of people in and around the industry. This is why it is important to take these findings seriously because if this is the general mood of the nation, there is going to be a lot of hard work to undertake to ensure that poker and gaming are seen as things that people want to introduce to online players across the United States.
There is no doubt that there is a high number of people who are looking to have the opportunity to enjoy online poker real money but it may be that the opposition to this happening is till rather high. Of course, with more people backing marijuana that online gaming in this survey, high may not be the term to use!
Every survey carries certain balances or swaying indicators that may influence the outcome but it is crucial for the US gaming industry to be serious about promoting the benefits of online poker and gambling to win over more people.
